Teacher Payouts for Yoga Studios
A yoga studio pays teachers in different ways. This module counts the classes each teacher took and applies her rate, so the month’s payout is read from the register and not rebuilt on a calculator.
How payouts are worked out
What a statement shows
Each teacher’s statement lists the classes taken, the students present, the rate applied and the total. Workshops and teacher training sessions appear on separate lines. The owner can open the statement before payment and question any line.
How it connects to the rest
Payouts read from attendance, and attendance reads from the timetable. Each teacher sees her own classes counted as the month goes on. At month end the totals go to whoever handles payment for the studio, and the owner can open any line.
What the owner decides
- The rate for each teacher and each type of class
- Whether a cancelled class is paid
- How a class with very few students is treated
- Whether workshops follow a different rate
- Any deduction, which is a matter for the owner and the accountant
Frequently asked questions
Does it pay the teachers?
No. It works out what each teacher is owed. The studio pays by bank transfer, UPI or cash, as it does today.
Can a teacher see her own payout?
Yes, provided the owner has turned it on. A teacher sees her classes and the amount counted so far this month, and nobody else’s.
What if a teacher’s rate changes mid-month?
The new rate applies from the date entered. Classes before that date keep the earlier rate, so the statement stays correct.
Does it handle TDS or tax on teacher payments?
No. Tax treatment is a matter for the studio’s accountant. The statement gives the gross amount owed.
