Treatment Course Planning for Ayurveda Clinics

A treatment course lays out therapy sittings day by day, with the therapy, therapist, room and oil or herbs for each day. Each sitting is marked done as it happens.

Planning the course

Day-wise schedule

Seven or fourteen days are set for the course, and each day is given a therapy. Abhyanga, swedana, shirodhara, pizhichil and kizhi are examples a clinic may list.

Therapist and room per sitting

Every sitting is placed against a therapist and a room from the scheduling screen.

Oils and materials

The oil, ghrita or herbs for a sitting are named, and the quantity used comes off the clinic’s stock.

Gaps and changes

A missed day can shift the rest of the course, and the vaidya can change a therapy mid-course with the change noted on the record.

Following a course

Open courses show the day each patient has reached, so the desk sees who is due today and who missed yesterday. Therapists mark a sitting done with a note, and the course closes once the last day is complete and a review date is set.

Courses and the bill

Sittings done feed the bill. Packages are counted sitting by sitting, while courses billed by the day are charged as each day is completed. The clinic decides which of the two applies.

What the client decides

The software lays out a course the vaidya has advised. It does not choose therapies.

  • The therapy names, durations and usual course lengths
  • Which therapies need a particular room or therapist
  • How a missed sitting is treated on the bill
  • Whether courses are sold as packages or billed by the day
  • Who may change a course once it has started
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can a course be moved when a patient misses a day?

Yes. The desk can move the remaining sittings, and the original dates stay on the record.

Can two therapies be planned on the same day?

Yes. A day can carry more than one therapy, each with its own therapist and room.

Does it count sittings left in a package?

Yes. A package shows sittings used and sittings left, and each completed sitting comes off the balance.

Who decides which therapy a patient gets?

The vaidya. The software only schedules, records and bills what has been advised.
