Quotation and Estimate Builder for Electrical Contractors

Quotations are built from the contractor’s own rate list, by point, item or area. Each revision is kept, and the client’s approval is recorded before the quotation becomes a site job.

Pricing the way you price today

An electrical quotation can be priced per point, per square foot, by item list or as a lump sum for a panel. The rate list holds all of these.

Point-based quotations

A light point and a fan point each carry a rate that includes wire, conduit and labour as you define it, and the survey count fills the quantities.

Item-wise quotations

Cable by size, MCBs, DBs, switches and fittings are listed with quantity, make and rate. Supply-only and supply-and-fix lines can sit in the same quotation.

Labour lines

Fixing, testing and commissioning are priced as their own lines. The owner can see how much of a quotation is material and how much is labour.

Revisions and approval

A builder asks for a lower price or a changed scope, so the estimator opens a new version, and the earlier one is kept alongside it for reference.

Version history

Each version shows what changed, who changed it and when it went to the client, so nobody has to hunt for the quotation that was actually sent.

Client approval

The approved version is marked, with the approver’s name and the day of approval. That version is the one the site job uses.

Terms and exclusions

Payment terms, validity, items left to the client and civil work excluded are written into the quotation. The wording follows your own format.

From quotation to site job

An approved quotation opens a site job with its quantities already set as the planned scope. Later bills and material use are read against those quantities. A variation approved on site is added as a new line rather than changing the original.

What the client decides

The builder does not set your rates, and the software does not suggest them. Which items are supply-only, how GST is shown and what retention is held are matters between you, the client and your accountant.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can the rate list be changed for one client?

Yes. A client can have its own rates, so a regular builder’s point rate need not match a homeowner’s.

Does it remember which quotations were lost?

Yes. A quotation closed as lost keeps its reason, and the win and loss list is available to the owner.

How does the quotation reach the client?

It is printed or sent as a PDF by email or WhatsApp, in the format set up for your firm.

Will it check my cable sizing?

No. The sizing and design are the engineer’s decision. The quotation holds the items and rates you choose.
