GullySystem
Middle East · Software for businesses in United Arab Emirates

Business software for Emirates companies that trade in Arabic and English and live on WhatsApp.

Companies in the Emirates may sit in a free zone or on the mainland. Most renew a trade licence each year, charge VAT, and talk to customers on WhatsApp in Arabic and English. GullySystem, based in Bengaluru, supports them remotely with software for jobs, contracts, tenancies, bookings and invoices.

At a glance

Working with a team in India from United Arab Emirates.

The Emirates economy mixes developers, property managers, hotels, logistics firms and a large number of small trading companies. Owners often lead teams drawn from several countries, and they read invoices in Arabic, English or both. Records need to be clear to a mixed team.

India and the Emirates are close on the clock and close in business habit. We work from Bengaluru with no office in the Gulf; every session happens over video, and the working days overlap almost fully.

How the work runs

What changes when your business is in United Arab Emirates.

Hours, money, language and data are decided with you at the start, not discovered later.

Working hours and calls

The time difference is small, so most of your working day overlaps with ours; calls can be placed in the morning or the afternoon. Your weekend differs from India’s, and we plan around yours, with a gap left for Friday prayers.

Currency, tax and invoices

Invoices can be issued in dirhams or in a foreign currency, with VAT shown by line and the supplier tax registration number printed. Tax settings are held per business. Free zone and mainland entities may need different treatment, and your accountant decides which applies before the first invoice goes out.

Language and messaging

Documents and customer messages can run in Arabic, English or both side by side, with right-to-left layout where needed. WhatsApp is the main channel for quotations, receipts and reminders, and staff share one business number rather than their own phones, so a handover does not lose the thread. Official sender setup is done once. Templates are then reused across teams.

Data hosting and privacy

Hosting can be placed in a regional cloud centre in the Gulf; personal data rules in the Emirates vary between the mainland and certain free zones. We map where each record lives and go through those rules with your adviser well before launch.

Business in United Arab Emirates

What the software has to fit.

The filing cycles, payment habits and licences a small business there already works around.

Free zone and mainland entities

A group may hold one company in a free zone for trading and another on the mainland for local contracts. Each has its own licence, bank account and invoice series; the two sets of books stay apart while the owner sees a combined picture.

Yearly trade licence renewal

Every company renews its trade licence on a fixed date, together with the tenancy contract behind it, staff visas and Emirates ID cards. A missed date can stop work. Reminders against each document and each person matter more than a general calendar, because the licence, the visa and the tenancy rarely fall due in the same month.

VAT and corporate tax beside daily trade

VAT-registered firms issue tax invoices and file periodic returns; many also deal with corporate tax, which is new to some owners. Clean records by entity shorten the conversation with the auditor, and they let a new finance hire find an old invoice without asking the owner.

WhatsApp as the front desk

Customers ask for a quote, send a site photo, approve a price and confirm a delivery slot, all in one thread. Cash on delivery and card links are both common; staff need that thread attached to the order, or the detail leaves with the employee who held the phone.

Wages, labour accommodation and summer

Employers pay salaries through the wage protection system and track accommodation, transport and the cost of each worker against the site where he or she is posted. Outdoor trades slow in peak summer heat, and site crews often shift to early mornings and evenings, which changes how shifts, transport and overtime are recorded. Hospitality and tourism firms follow the winter season and the holiday calendar, with bookings bunching around school breaks and public holidays that move each year.

Common questions

Questions from businesses in United Arab Emirates.

Do you work in Arabic?

Documents and customer messages can be set up in Arabic and English, including right-to-left layout, with print layouts tested on the invoice and the contract before anything is sent. Our project team works in English. Any Arabic wording is supplied or approved by you.

Does the time difference cause problems?

It is small. Most of your working day overlaps with ours, and calls can sit in either half of the day; your weekend is respected when sessions are scheduled.

Can it handle VAT and our trade licence renewals?

VAT settings are held per company and checked with your accountant, including how zero-rated exports and mixed supplies are coded on each invoice line. Licence, visa and tenancy dates are stored per entity and per person, with reminders to the people you name; the software does not file anything for you.

We have no meeting room in Dubai for you. Is that a problem?

Everything runs by video and shared screen. No visit is needed. Contracts are signed electronically and scoped per project. If a handover benefits from a visit, we agree that separately.
