Tile Shade Lot and Batch Records
Two boxes of one design from different production lots do not match on a floor. This module keeps the lot number with the stock and with the order.
Where a lot number comes from
Reserving boxes for a site
On confirming an order, the boxes are held from a single lot wherever enough of that lot remains. If a site needs more than one lot can cover, the counter is shown the split before anything leaves the godown. The buyer can then take a mixed lot, wait for the next company load, or put the second lot in a room where the difference will not show. That choice is the buyer’s.
What the lot record is used for
What it does not do
- It does not read a lot code off a box unless someone enters or scans it
- It does not judge whether two lots will look alike once laid
- It does not block a mixed-lot delivery; it only shows that one is happening
- It does not settle a shade complaint with the company on your behalf
Frequently asked questions
Must every box be scanned?
No. Lot codes go in for a series and size as the load is unloaded, not box by box.
What if only one lot is left?
The counter reads the box count for that lot before quoting, and can tell the buyer what is really available.
Can a delivery mix two lots?
Yes, where the buyer agrees to it. The challan prints both codes, so the site knows what it took in.
Is calibre kept as well as shade?
Yes, where your boxes print it. How closely calibre is followed is settled with you at implementation.
