We build software for Kerala businesses, from Kollam cashew factories to Thrissur jewellers.
Kerala businesses run on Tally, WhatsApp and trust, and many are overseen by an owner or partner in the Gulf who wants the numbers from abroad. GullySystem, a software company in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, builds ERP, billing, loan and clinic software for Kerala firms, starting with a free technology audit over calls and screen-shares.
Kerala has fewer large factories than its neighbours and far more trading houses, hospitals, finance firms, jewellers and export units. Their records are careful but scattered: Tally for GST, a ledger for credit, WhatsApp for orders, and an Excel sheet someone emails to the owner every week.
Kerala’s towns run into each other along the coast and the highway, so a Thrissur trader often has a godown in Angamaly and a branch in Kunnamkulam. The records split the same way, with each branch keeping its own Excel and Malayalam slips on the floor.
What Kerala makes, trades and runs on.
Kochi and Ernakulam
The port, seafood and spice exporters, Broadway’s wholesale trade, Infopark and a large hospital sector. Shipping documents, lot records and long credit ledgers keep them running.
Thiruvananthapuram
Government offices and their suppliers, Technopark, hospitals and PSC coaching centres. Pending department bills, fee registers and patient records are the heavy paperwork.
Thrissur
Gold jewellery workshops and showrooms, chit funds, gold-loan firms and large textile stores. Weight and purity records, instalment ledgers and pledged-gold registers carry real risk.
Kozhikode and Malappuram
Wholesale trade at Valiyangadi and Manjeri, Kallai timber, hospitals in Perinthalmanna and Ayurveda makers in Kottakkal. Credit books, batch records and patient files are the core.
Kollam and Alappuzha
Cashew processing, coir, fishing harbours, seafood peeling and houseboats. Worker attendance, piece-rate wages, export lots and bookings fill the registers.
Kannur
Handloom home textiles for export, plywood and timber mills at Valapattanam, and Thalassery’s bakeries. Order tracking across outside weavers and grade-wise stock are the hard parts.
How Kerala businesses pick and use software.
Kerala owners read proposals closely and ask what happens after go-live, often because they have paid for software that was never finished. Expect questions about source code, data ownership and who fixes things when the developer leaves.
The Gulf shapes decisions. A partner, or the owner’s son in Dubai, Doha or Riyadh, often approves the purchase and later checks the dashboard from there. Remote access and clear reports matter as much as the billing screen.
Monsoon power cuts and damp godowns are part of the year here, so owners often ask early where the data will live and how it is backed up.
Where Kerala businesses lose time and money.
Our partner abroad sees the figures a week late
The accountant prepares a summary on Saturday and sends it to Dubai or Riyadh as a PDF. By then stock has moved and dues have grown, and decisions are made on old numbers.
Our kuri and loan records run on a program nobody can update
Chit and small-finance firms across Kerala still use desktop software from a vendor who has moved on. New rules and new reports are managed with Excel sheets built around it.
Worker attendance in the processing unit is still a register
Cashew, coir and seafood units employ many workers paid by output. Wages, PF and ESI are worked out from handwritten attendance, and every inspection means a week of preparation.
Our Tally data lives on one PC under the counter
In many shops the only copy of the books is on the billing computer. A monsoon power surge, a leak or a failed hard disk can take years of records with it, and the backup is a pen drive nobody has checked.

Do you have an office in Kerala?
No. Our only office is in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. Kerala projects run on calls, screen-shares, WhatsApp and shared documents, and we travel for a kick-off, a go-live or training when being there helps, with the visit agreed in advance.
Can the software be in Malayalam?
Yes, where it helps. Screens for warehouse, counter or factory staff can carry Malayalam labels, and customer slips can print in Malayalam and English. Reports for the owner and the auditor usually stay in English.
Can our partner in the Gulf approve payments from there?
Yes. Approvals for purchases, payments or discounts can go to a partner’s phone, with the supporting bill attached. Nothing is released until they approve, and every approval is recorded with a time and a name.
What happens in the free technology audit?
We look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough to start. You get a report ordered by priority, and there is no obligation to hire us afterwards.
How much will the software cost?
We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. The audit settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
