Auto components, forgings, sheet-metal parts and machine tools made for OEMs to a monthly schedule that changes every week. The work depends on job cards, heat and lot numbers, material sent out for plating or heat treatment, and rejection reports that come back from the customer.
Nashik and the grape and onion belt
Engineering units in Satpur and Ambad sit beside vineyards, grape packhouses and the onion trade around Lasalgaon and Pimpalgaon. Here the records that matter are export lot registers, grading sheets, storage stock and payments to growers.
Vidarbha: Nagpur and Amravati
Oranges, cotton and grain move through the Kalamna and Amravati market yards, and distributors in Itwari supply towns across central India. The business runs on commission pattis, farmer advances, bale and lot records and salesmen’s order books.
Marathwada: Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nanded

South Maharashtra: Kolhapur, Sangli, Ichalkaranji and Solapur
Foundries in Shiroli, turmeric in the Sangli market yard, powerlooms in Ichalkaranji, and chaddars and school uniforms in Solapur. Job-work ledgers, beam and yarn accounts, melt logs and size-wise stock carry most of the risk in this belt.
How Maharashtra businesses pick and use software.
Tally usually came into a Maharashtra business through the CA, and the local Tally partner is still the person the owner calls first. Anything we build has to sit beside Tally and post into it cleanly, because the CA will not give it up and neither will the owner.
The shop floor speaks Marathi, the office writes in English and the owner switches between both on the same call. Supervisors in Bhosari or Shiroli will use a job-card screen only if it reads the way they speak. So we build Marathi labels where the floor needs them and keep English where the CA needs it.
