Run courts, batches, coaches, shuttle stock and tournament entries from one record.

Badminton academies sell court time and coaching by the batch, and the register, the fee book and the tournament list sit in separate places. This page covers batch rosters by court and coach, player levels, shuttle stock, fee dues and entries for events.

At a glance

A badminton academy sells two things. One is coaching, in batches graded by age and level. The other is court time, hired out by the hour when no batch is using it.

Both depend on a court grid that stays correct all day, because a single double-booked hour on a synthetic or wooden court sends a batch of juniors home early. Coaches promote juniors between levels and age bands, so the academy must also track who is ready for a stronger batch and who has entered each tournament draw.

How the work runs today

The front desk holds the court chart for the week. Morning and evening batches fill the busy slots, and walk-in hirers take what is left. A coach marks attendance on a sheet at the court side, and the sheet reaches the desk a day later, if at all.

Shuttles are the running cost. Feather tubes go to the senior batches and nylon tubes to the juniors. The store keeper counts what was issued to each court at the end of the evening, then reorders from whichever supplier answers first.

Parents ask about the fee, the grading of their child and the next tournament. The manager answers from three books. Coaches are paid a base amount plus a share for private sessions, and that share is worked out at the month end from memory and a notebook.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for badminton academies without a proper system.

Court hours are double-booked

A batch, a private lesson and an hourly hirer can all be promised the same court. The chart on the wall shows only what was last written.

Players sit in the wrong batch

A junior who has outgrown the beginner group stays there because nobody recorded a footwork or stroke assessment. Parents notice before the coach does.

Shuttle use cannot be matched to batches

Tubes leave the store without a note of which court or batch used them. Stock runs out on the evening of a match, and the cost per batch is unknown.

Tournament entries are collected in chat groups

Names, ages, draw categories and entry fees arrive in messages. A player gets entered in the wrong age group, or in none.

Private session shares are disputed

A coach says twelve one-to-one hours were taken, and the desk book says nine. The month-end payout turns into an argument.

What the software does

What we would build for badminton academies.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Court grid and hourly hire

Hold each court by hour with batch blocks, private lessons and walk-in hire shown on one grid, so a clash is visible before the slot is promised.

Batches, levels and age groups

Place each player in a batch by level and age group, with coach, court and weekdays, and move a player up when an assessment is recorded.

Player assessments and progress

Note footwork, smash, net play and fitness scores on a dated card per player, so a batch change has something written behind it.

Fees, passes and court-hire receipts

Raise monthly or quarterly fees, sibling concessions and hire receipts, and see which parents owe for which month.

Shuttle, string and equipment stock

Count feather and nylon tubes, grips and string reels, issue them to a court or a batch, and see the cost of each evening.

Tournaments and draw entries

Record each player’s age category, draw, entry fee and travel arrangement for every event the academy sends players to.

Coach attendance and payouts

Log each coach’s batches and private hours, then work out the monthly base and the share on one-to-one sessions.

Common questions

Questions badminton academies ask before they call.

Can one system hold both coaching batches and hourly court hire?

Yes. Both draw on the same court grid, so a batch block and a hirer cannot take the same hour. The academy decides which courts stay reserved for coaching.

Does it handle sibling concessions and quarterly fee plans?

Yes. Concessions and plan lengths are entered as your academy offers them. The parent’s balance shows the month each instalment covers.

Can parents see a child’s assessment and attendance?

Yes, if the academy switches that on. A parent sees attendance, the latest assessment card and the fee status for their own child only.

Is tournament scheduling included?

No. The academy records who is entered in which draw and what was paid. Match draws and results stay with the tournament organiser.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
