Water and Environment · Software for sewage treatment operators

Keep every sample, dosing run and discharge reading on one plant record.

A sewage treatment plant answers to a discharge consent, and the evidence is a stack of laboratory results, logbook pages and pump hours. The software holds inflow, process readings, samples, sludge haulage and maintenance per plant, so a consent report is drawn from entries made on the day.

At a glance

Wastewater arrives by sewer, pumping main and tanker, and leaves as treated effluent, screenings, grit and sludge. Each stream has its own limit, its own record and its own hauler. A missed reading cannot be recreated.

Plant software for sewage treatment operators puts the operator’s round, the laboratory result and the discharge consent on the same record. It follows one figure from the inlet works logbook to the sample bottle label and on to the consent return. Start by sharing your requirements.

How the work runs today

At the start of a shift the operator walks the inlet works, the clarifiers and the aeration basins. Screenings skips are counted, dissolved oxygen is read, blowers and return sludge pumps are checked, and chemical dosing for phosphorus removal or disinfection is set. Septage tankers book in at the receiving point. They are logged by load, source and volume before they discharge.

The sampler takes composites at the inlet and the outfall, and the laboratory reports BOD, suspended solids, ammonia and others. Sludge is thickened, dewatered and hauled away as cake. Remote lift stations send alarms. Odour or blockage complaints come in by phone. Everything is written in a logbook that nobody can search across months. Regulators ask for it anyway, and the plant has to find it.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for sewage treatment operators without a proper system.

Operator rounds live in a paper logbook

Readings are written by hand at the clarifier and the blower house. Finding last Tuesday’s dissolved oxygen means turning pages in a book that also holds the blower hours, the skip counts and the handover notes of three different shifts. A gap cannot be filled.

Laboratory results are not matched to the process

A high ammonia result arrives days later. Nobody can see what the aeration, the return sludge rate or the inflow were doing when the sample was cut, so the cause of the result stays a matter of opinion. The review stalls.

Consent reporting is assembled by hand

Discharge limits for each parameter are checked against a spreadsheet of results. Preparing the return takes days of copying between the laboratory sheets and the permit table, and an exceedance can be missed in the transfer. Errors travel.

Sludge haulage is booked on paper

Cake leaves in trucks to a farm, landfill or incinerator. Load weights, destinations and manifests sit in different files, so the sludge balance never closes at month end. The question of where a missing tonne went has no answer in any single file.

Lift stations fail between visits

A wet well pump trips, the level alarm goes to one phone, and the repair history sits in the technician’s notebook. The next failure starts from nothing. Same fault, same drive.

What the software does

What we would build for sewage treatment operators.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Operator rounds and logbook

Walk-round checklists for each process area, filled on a phone, with readings and defects dated and kept per plant.

Sample and laboratory register

Number every composite and grab sample, record who took it and where, and attach the result to the process day it describes.

Discharge consent tracking

Hold the limit for each parameter and flag results near or over it, with the readings from the day beside them.

Septage and tanker receiving

Record each tanker by source, volume, load description and charge, with the haulier’s licence and manifest on file.

Sludge and screenings haulage

Log cake and screenings loads by weight, destination and manifest, so the sludge balance can be closed each month.

Lift stations and maintenance

Keep each station’s pumps, run hours, alarm history and work orders, with preventive tasks scheduled by date and hours.

Chemical store and dosing

Receive polymer, ferric and disinfectant deliveries, issue them to a dosing point and read use against flow treated.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions sewage treatment operators ask before they call.

Does it read data from our plant control system?

Not by itself. Operators enter readings, and a data export from your control system can be loaded if one exists. Live links are quoted separately after a survey.

Can it produce the report our regulator asks for?

It prepares the figures in the layout your regulator specifies, drawn from entries on the day. The format is agreed with your own staff and the regulator during implementation.

We have eight pump stations as well as the works. Is that covered?

Yes. Each pump station keeps its own pumps, run hours, alarm history and visits, and they roll up under the network or the works they serve.

Can our laboratory use the same system?

Yes, whether it sits on site or belongs to a contractor. Analysts get a login limited to samples and results, and nothing else on the plant record.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
