GullySystem
Advertising and marketing · Software for printing presses

We quote every print job from scratch, and half the time the paper cost has changed.

A printing press runs on job-wise quotes built from paper, plates, impressions, and finishing, and the margin goes when a paper rate changes unnoticed. GullySystem builds press software that prices jobs from your current rates and tracks each job through prepress, printing, and binding. Paper stock and credit customers’ outstanding bills stay in view.

At a glance

In a press, the quote is the business. Get the paper weight, the number of colours, or the lamination wrong, and the margin on a job disappears before it reaches the machine.

We build job costing and tracking for offset and digital presses, and the free technology audit looks at the rate cards and registers you use now.

How the work runs today

A customer asks for five thousand brochures, a set of bill books, or cartons. The owner works out paper size, GSM, sheets needed with wastage, plates, impressions, and finishing like lamination or die-cutting, then quotes on WhatsApp. The design comes in as a PDF, prepress sends a proof, and the customer approves after corrections.

The job ticket goes to the machine operator, then binding or finishing, sometimes to an outside vendor for UV or foiling. Paper is bought from a dealer on credit. Delivery goes with a challan, the bill follows, and the regular customers settle monthly, so outstanding lists live in Tally and a diary.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for printing presses without a proper system.

Quotes depend on the owner’s head

Only one person knows how to price a job, and when paper rates move, old quotes still go out.

Jobs get printed from the wrong proof

Corrections came on WhatsApp after the plates were made, and the approved version was not the one on the machine.

Paper stock is always a surprise

The reels and reams on the floor do not match the register, and a rush job stops for want of the right GSM.

Outside finishing gets lost

Jobs sent out for lamination or foiling have no clear return date or cost against them.

What the software does

What we would build for printing presses.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Job costing and quotation

Enter size, GSM, colours, quantity, and finishing, and the quote is built from your current paper and machine rates.

Proof approval record

Each proof version is stored with the customer’s approval, and the job ticket points to the approved file.

Job ticket and machine schedule

Shows which job is on which machine today and what is waiting for binding or dispatch.

Paper and consumables stock

Tracks paper by size and GSM, plates, and ink, with stock issued against each job.

Delivery challan and outstanding

Challans become bills, and the outstanding list shows which customer owes what and since when.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 01

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, Tally reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 02

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 03

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 04

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

Common questions

Questions printing presses ask before they call.

Will it work with Tally?

Yes. Bills and receipts can sync with Tally, so your accountant keeps using it for GST returns and ledgers.

There are ready print ERPs. Why custom?

Some print ERPs are good, and if one fits your mix of work you should buy it. Custom makes sense when your costing rules or your mix of offset, digital, and packaging don’t fit their forms.

Can a customer see where their job is?

Yes, a simple status link or WhatsApp update can show proof, printing, finishing, or ready for dispatch.

Can it cost both offset and digital jobs?

Yes. Each machine gets its own costing rule: per plate and impression for offset, per sheet or click for digital. The quote uses the rule of the machine the job is planned on.

What happens in the free technology audit?

We look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough to start. You get a report ordered by priority, and there is no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. The audit settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
