Healthcare · Software for radiology centres

Follow each scan from referral to signed report, and pay radiologists and referrers from the same entries.

Radiology centres run X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI rooms, each with its own slot book, worklist and reporting queue. The software follows every study from the referral to the signed report and the release of images, and works out reporting fees and referrer shares.

At a glance

A radiology centre sells reports, not just scans. A referral arrives, a room is booked, the patient is prepared, images are acquired and a radiologist signs a report. Any one of those steps can stall a study.

Most centres track this with a slot register per room and a reporting list kept by the front desk. The software follows each study through its stages and keeps the referrer, the modality and the radiologist on the same record.

How the work runs today

The day starts with the list for each room. Patients for an abdominal ultrasound are asked to fast, a contrast CT waits on a kidney function value, and walk-in chest films fill the gaps between booked MRI sittings.

Radiographers position the patient, acquire the images, note any repeat exposure and send the study to the viewer. Radiologists, in the centre or reporting remotely, open the queue, dictate the findings from a template and sign. Urgent findings are phoned to the referrer.

Signed reports are printed, sent as a link or burned to a disc. At month end, referring doctors, hospitals and companies on credit receive statements, and the owner asks which room sat idle and who sent the most studies.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for radiology centres without a proper system.

Each room keeps its own slot book

The MRI sheet and the ultrasound register never meet. Callers wait. The desk walks between rooms to find a free slot.

Preparation instructions go missing

A patient arrives for a pelvic scan with an empty bladder, or for a contrast study with no recent creatinine value. The slot is wasted and the next patient waits.

Reporting queues are invisible

A study may be acquired, waiting for a radiologist, in draft or awaiting a countersign. Finding which means asking the radiologist directly.

Repeat exposures leave no trace

A rejected film or a second acquisition costs time and, for X-ray and CT, dose. The reason for the repeat is rarely written down.

Fees to radiologists and referrers are argued

Reporting fees per study and referrer shares are tallied from printed lists, and the total differs between the owner, the radiologist and the accountant at every month end.

What the software does

What we would build for radiology centres.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Referral and order intake

Capture the referring doctor, clinical question, requested study and urgency, and attach the written referral to the order.

Modality schedule by room

Book X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI sittings by room and radiographer, with slot length set for each kind of study.

Preparation and contrast checklist

Record fasting, bladder filling, creatinine values, allergy answers and consent for each study before the patient reaches the room.

Reporting queue and radiologist sign-off

Assign studies to a radiologist, hold draft and final states, apply templates, and record countersign and critical result calls.

Image and report release

Hand over the report by print, disc or secure link, and log who collected or received it and when.

Reporting fees and referrer shares

Work out each radiologist’s fee per study and each referrer’s share, using rules the centre sets, ready for month end.

Scanner service and contrast stock

Keep service dates and downtime for each machine, and count contrast, film and consumables with reorder levels.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions radiology centres ask before they call.

How is this different from the diagnostic centre product?

A diagnostic centre usually mixes imaging with sample collection and a laboratory. This one is for imaging alone, with the reporting queue, repeat-exposure record and radiologist fees at the centre.

Will it link with the PACS or viewer we already use?

Studies can be matched to the viewer by accession number, and the link opens from the order. The exact method depends on the viewer and is reviewed during implementation.

Does it write or interpret reports?

No. Radiologists write and sign every report. The system supplies templates, holds draft and final states, and records who signed and when.

Can we pay radiologists a fee per study?

Yes, by modality or by study type. Fee rules are set with the centre. Tax treatment of the payout is for the centre’s own accountant.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
