Agriculture · Software for hatcheries

Trace every chick back to its egg lot, setter tray and hatch result.

A hatchery turns hatching eggs into graded chicks on a strict calendar of setting, transfer and pull. The hatchery software records egg lots from each breeder flock, machine loads, candling and hatchability. Each batch carries its chick grade, vaccine given and the farm order it fills. Machine log formats are set up with your team.

At a glance

Hatching runs on a fixed clock. Eggs go into a setter on one day, move to a hatcher on another, and chicks come out on a third. If a lot hatches badly, the answer lies in an earlier step that nobody wrote down. That is common.

Egg lot and hatch tracking for hatcheries starts at the receiving dock, because the breeder flock behind each egg decides most of what follows. A first pilot can trace one setter load, from eggs arriving at the dock through candling, transfer and pull to chick dispatch.

How the work runs today

Hatching eggs arrive from breeder farms on trays and trolleys, with a flock reference, a lay date and a count. The egg room stores them, and fumigation and cold room readings are logged. Eggs are loaded into setters by lot, trays are marked, and temperature and humidity are checked through the day. Candling at transfer removes clears and early deaths, then the eggs move to the hatcher. Chicks are pulled, counted, graded, sexed where needed, vaccinated by spray or injection, and boxed for dispatch.

Farm customers place orders for a day, a breed and a number, and a delivery vehicle carries boxes with their own chick counts. After the pull, a breakout of unhatched eggs shows what went wrong, such as infertile eggs, early or late deaths and pips. Breeder farms want feedback by flock. Farm customers want a chick quality figure for each placement, and invoices are raised from boxes delivered, not from eggs set.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for hatcheries without a proper system.

A poor hatch cannot be traced

Hatch results are compared by day, not by egg lot. When one breeder flock produces weak chicks, the pattern is spotted months later. Damage is done.

Machine logs live on paper

Setter and hatcher temperature and humidity are written on hanging sheets beside each machine, and a slow drift in one of them is found only after the pull has already gone badly. By then it is late.

Candling results are tallied late

Clears and early deaths are counted at transfer, then copied to a register. Fertility by flock is never worked out in time to act on. Decisions wait.

Chick grade is a verbal judgement

Grade A, grade B and culls are called out on the line. Customers dispute the box count and the culls with no record of either. Trust fades.

Orders overrun the setting plan

Farm orders arrive by phone for chicks three weeks away. Setting capacity is planned from a whiteboard, so some orders are short and others have chicks left over.

What the software does

What we would build for hatcheries.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Egg receiving and lot register

Record trays received from each breeder flock with lay date, age of flock and count, and give every lot a number that stays with it through setting and pull.

Egg room and fumigation log

Note cold room temperature, storage days and fumigation for every lot, so eggs held too long are visible before they are set. A lot that waited beyond your own storage limit shows in a list that the egg room supervisor checks every morning.

Setter and hatcher loads

Plan which lots go into which setter and trolley, record transfer dates, and keep machine temperature and humidity readings against each load.

Candling and breakout

Enter clears, early deaths and unhatched breakout findings per lot, and read fertility and hatchability by breeder flock without a hand tally.

Chick grading and vaccination

Record chicks pulled, grade A and B, culls and sex where it applies, plus the vaccine and batch given by spray or injection.

Farm orders and dispatch

Hold each farm’s order by breed, date and quantity, load boxes against it, and record the vehicle, the box count and the receiving signature.

Hatchery billing

Raise invoices from chicks delivered at the agreed grade, with replacement or credit entries for the culls and shortages customers report.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions hatcheries ask before they call.

Can we compare hatchability by breeder flock?

Yes. Each egg lot carries its flock, and candling and breakout results are saved against the lot. A flock with weak fertility is visible across several setting dates.

Do machines send their readings automatically?

Not as standard. Staff enter temperature and humidity at set rounds. Reading values straight from an incubator controller or logger is extra scope that we size once you share your requirements.

How does it help when a farm disputes chick quality?

The delivery record holds box count, grade split and cull count at dispatch, with the lot and pull date. Complaints are matched to that record, whether the farm raises them by phone the same evening or by email a week later.

Can it plan settings against orders?

It shows orders by breed and delivery date beside available setter space and eggs on hand. The plan is a view for your planner and does not decide for them.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
