Agriculture · Software for crop farms

Follow every field from seed lot to grain bin and sales contract.

A crop farm lives by its fields, and each field has a different history. The crop farm software holds the plan, the inputs applied, the passes made and the grain delivered for every field and season, with spray records and bin stock beside the yield.

At a glance

Arable work is planned a year ahead and judged in a few weeks. Rotation, seed choice, fertiliser and spray timing are decided field by field, and the results return as one weighbridge ticket after another. Fields differ, so the records must differ too.

Crop farm management software keeps the field as the main record. Every pass, every product applied and every load cut is written against it, so the margin of a field can be read after harvest.

How the work runs today

The agronomist and the farm manager agree a plan for each field before winter ends. It names the crop, the variety, the seed lot, the sowing window and the planned fertiliser. Drilling follows once the soil allows. The operator logs seed rate, depth and drill hours. Bags are checked against the lot on the tag.

Through spring and summer the work is scouting, spraying and watching the weather. Each spray record carries the product, the dose, the water volume, the wind and the operator’s name. Harvest brings combines, trailers and a queue at the dryer. Moisture is read at the gate. Each load is weighed, and the grain goes to a bin or straight to the buyer against a contract.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for crop farms without a proper system.

Spray records live in three notebooks

The sprayer operator writes one version, the agronomist another, and the store ledger shows a third quantity. A buyer asks for the history of one field and waits while someone stitches the pages together. Nobody trusts the result.

Yield is known by farm, not by field

The weighbridge totals come in per day, and the field a load came from is remembered by the driver. A weak headland or a wet corner never shows up. Averages hide it.

Grain in the bins does not match the contracts

Wheat sold forward for March sits next to barley held for feed. The bin sheet, the buyer’s call-off and the haulier’s ticket disagree on tonnes. The gap appears at delivery.

Machine hours are never charged to a crop

Tractor, drill, sprayer and combine hours are logged for service, not for costing, and diesel is bought in bulk then shared across every field without a split. No crop carries its own machines.

Seasonal labour is paid from memory

Tractor drivers, pickers and harvest casuals come for a few weeks. Hours are written on scraps. Come the last week of harvest, nobody agrees what each picker is owed.

What the software does

What we would build for crop farms.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Field register and crop plan

Hold each field with its area, soil notes, previous crops and the plan for this season. A rotation gap or a repeat of the same crop is flagged before seed is ordered.

Input store and application log

Record seed, fertiliser and crop protection received by lot, then issued to a field with the dose, the operator and the weather at application. A pre-harvest interval counts down for every product sprayed. The date is on screen.

Field operations and machine hours

Log drilling, spraying, rolling and cutting against the field and the machine used. Diesel and repair cost are spread over the hours worked, so a field carries its own machine cost.

Harvest, weighbridge and moisture

Each load is weighed, its moisture read and its field named. The ticket shows the trailer, the driver and where the grain was tipped, whether that was the dryer, a numbered bin or a buyer’s lorry waiting at the gate.

Bin stock and sales contracts

Track tonnes in each bin by crop and grade, then match them to forward contracts and call-offs. Delivered, outstanding and unpriced tonnes show on one screen.

Seasonal crews and wages

Record hours by crew, field and task, with piece rates for picking or baling where you use them. Wages are totalled for the pay run from those entries.

Field margin report

Set revenue from grain sold against seed, inputs, machine cost, labour and rent for each field. Read the result by crop and by season.

Each one is also available on its own, or inside a system built for you.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions crop farms ask before they call.

Do we need a map or satellite layer to use this?

No. Fields are held as named records with their area, and a boundary file can be attached where you have one. Mapping layers or sensor feeds are separate integration work, scoped after the first workshop.

Can an operator log a spray pass from the cab?

Yes. The operator opens the day’s task on a phone, picks the product from the store, enters the dose and tank mix, and saves. A weak signal is the usual limit, so the office checks entries each evening.

How are grain contracts handled?

Each forward sale is a record with the buyer, crop, grade, tonnes, delivery window and price basis. Loads taken from the bins are matched to it, and the tonnes still owed stay visible.

What happens to our old field records?

Before go-live we key in your field list, the crops grown on each plot in past years and any buyer contracts still open, taken from the sheets you keep now. Your agronomist checks the history field by field. Older notebook pages can be scanned and attached to the field.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
