Home services · Software for remodelling contractors

Hold every selection, change order and trade visit on one project record.

Remodelling contractors rebuild kitchens, bathrooms, basements and whole interiors for homeowners who are living through the work. The software holds each project with its estimate, selections, change orders, trade schedule and payment draws. The client sees what was agreed, and the office sees what has been spent against it.

At a glance

A remodel is a small construction project inside somebody’s home. The scope shifts as walls open, the client changes a tile, and three trades need the same room on the same week.

Most firms hold this scattered across an estimate file, a text thread, a supplier portal and a notebook left on the dashboard of the site truck. When a dispute starts, nobody can show which version of the scope the client actually approved.

How the work runs today

A homeowner asks for a new kitchen, a bathroom, a finished basement or a rear extension. The firm visits, measures, discusses a budget and prepares an estimate with allowances for items the client has not yet chosen, such as tiles, fixtures and cabinets. After contract signing, the office orders long lead items and books the trades. Demolition comes first. Then framing, plumbing and electrical rough in, inspections, insulation, finishing and fit out.

Every week brings small decisions. Midway, the client picks a different worktop, the plumber finds an old pipe behind the wall, or an inspector asks for a change to the framing. Each is a change order that needs a price and a signature before work continues. Payment is released in draws as stages finish. At the end a punch list is walked and signed. Warranty calls follow months later.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for remodelling contractors without a proper system.

Change orders live in text messages

A client says yes on the phone and the work proceeds. At final payment the client remembers a different price.

Selections run late

A cabinet takes weeks to arrive and the client has not yet chosen the handles. A trade waits, and the schedule slips without a record of why.

Allowances are spent without a running total

Tile, lighting and fixtures are given an allowance. Nobody adds up what the client has actually chosen until the end.

Trades collide in the same room

The electrician, the plumber and the tiler are booked separately. One of them arrives to find the work before his not done.

Costs and billing separate

Supplier bills, trade invoices and client draws sit in different files. Profit on a job is known only after it has closed.

What the software does

What we would build for remodelling contractors.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Consultations and estimates

Log each enquiry and site visit, then build an estimate from your own cost items with allowances for choices still to be made.

Selections and allowances

Record each choice the client makes, its price and its lead time, and see what remains of every allowance as the list fills.

Contracts and change orders

Hold the signed scope and every change order with its price and approval, so the contract value is always the current figure.

Trade and project schedule

Lay stages on a calendar, book each trade into the sequence, and move the dependent stages when one slips.

Purchase orders and deliveries

Order materials and fixtures from suppliers, record what arrives and what is damaged, and match each delivery to the project.

Daily logs and site photographs

Record who was on site, what was done and what was found behind the wall, with photographs attached. A client can be shown the file.

Draws, invoices and job costing

Bill each stage draw under the contract, post what clients pay, and set actual cost beside the estimate while the project is still under way. The margin is visible early.

Common questions

Questions remodelling contractors ask before they call.

Can clients approve change orders online?

Yes. Each change order goes to the homeowner with its price and its effect on the programme, and their approval is dated and kept. The contract value updates when it is accepted.

Does it handle design and build work?

Yes. Design drawings and selections are attached to the project record alongside the estimate. Drawing and modelling software itself is not part of the system.

Can we see profit while a job is running?

Yes. Supplier bills, trade invoices and labour are recorded against the project, so cost can be read beside the contract value and the amount billed so far.

Can trades see their own bookings?

Yes. Each tradesperson opens their own dates and site addresses on a phone, then accepts the booking or turns it down with a reason the office can read. The office does not chase each one by phone.

What happens in the free technology audit?

We look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough to start. You get a report ordered by priority, and there is no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. The audit settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
