Keep every pole, trench, permit and crew day on one record per work order.
Power and utility contractors build and repair lines, cables, substations and street lighting for network owners and municipalities. The software holds each work order with its permits, crews, materials and as-built notes. Utility owners are billed against completed work, and every closed job leaves a record that can be produced later.
Utility work is issued by a network owner as a work order, and it is paid only when the paperwork says the job is done. Crews, trucks, cable drums, poles and traffic control all sit behind one order number. That number is the thread.
Most firms track this across spreadsheets, a purchasing file, a phone gallery and the utility’s own portal. A closed job is then hard to prove. The bill waits on missing documents, and the office spends its week chasing them.
A utility owner or a main contractor issues work orders for new connections, line extensions, cable laying, pole replacement, transformer changes and lighting. The office checks the scope, books permits, road opening approvals and outage windows, then assigns a crew, a vehicle and a set of materials. Crews work to a safety plan. They sign in at the start of each shift.
Poles, conductor, cable, joints and meters are drawn from the yard against the order. On site, the foreman records what was installed, what was removed and what was left for another crew. Photographs, test results and as-built markups go back to the office. The order is then closed and billed against the agreed schedule of rates, often in stages. Faults and storm repairs arrive without warning. They jump the queue.

Does it work for both overhead lines and underground cable?
Yes. Each order carries its own work types, quantities and materials. Overhead, underground and lighting jobs use the same record with different item lists.
Can we bill in the format a utility owner requires?
Usually. Schedules of rates and bill layouts are set up in the first workshop, with each client’s item codes, units and approval steps entered as that client expects to see them. A format needing a special file is quoted separately.
What happens on a line route with no mobile coverage?
The system runs online. A foreman on a remote line route records the day’s work once signal returns. From then on the control office can read it. Offline capture is a separate discussion.
Does it replace the utility’s own portal?
No. You may still need to upload documents there. Your own record is built first, so the upload is a copy of what you already hold, and nobody retypes it.
What happens in the free technology audit?
We look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough to start. You get a report ordered by priority, and there is no obligation to hire us afterwards.
How much will the software cost?
We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. The audit settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
