Home services · Software for handyman and home repair services

Keep every small job, part used and visit note in one record.

Handyman businesses run on many small jobs: a hung door, a patched wall, a replaced tap washer, a fitted shelf. The handyman software logs each request, books a person for it and records the parts and hours used. That record becomes the invoice, so the customer reads exactly what was done.

At a glance

A handyman or home repair firm takes dozens of short requests each week. Each one has a different address, a different skill and a small bill. Few justify a full project plan. Every one needs a booking, a note of what was done, a record of the rawlplugs, caulk and hinges used, and a payment taken before the van leaves. Speed matters.

Job and billing tracking for handyman services starts with the visit. It records the request, the person sent, the parts taken from the van and the time spent. Quotes, invoices and follow-up visits are built from the same record. The office stops rebuilding the story from texts.

How the work runs today

Requests arrive by phone, web form, messaging app and repeat customers who simply text. The office asks what is broken, checks the address and decides whether a photo or a site visit is needed first, say for a draughty sash window or a dripping stopcock. Small jobs are quoted as a fixed amount or an hourly rate with a minimum call-out, and the office confirms the figure with the customer before the van is sent. Bigger jobs, such as a bathroom repair, new architrave or a fascia and gutter fix, are quoted from a list of tasks and materials. Days fill fast. Few gaps remain.

Handymen work from vans carrying common stock: fixings, wall anchors, mastic, filler, grout, washers, paint and spare latches. A day has three to six stops, often with a supplies run between them. The visit ends with a note of work done, photographs and a payment, or an invoice for approved accounts. Landlords, letting agents and property managers send repeat work and expect one monthly statement. Cash matters. Vans stay stocked.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for handyman and home repair services without a proper system.

Requests sit in several inboxes

A call, a text, an email and a web form may each carry a piece of the same request. A dripping cistern gets booked twice and a curtain pole job is never booked. Without one list, a job is missed.

Van stock is not counted

Rawlplugs, mastic, silicone and spare fittings leave the van with no record. The shortage is found at the next job, when the handyman opens the toolbox, reaches for a hinge or a stopcock washer and finds the box empty.

Hours and parts are not billed in full

A return trip for a missing part, or an extra hour spent chasing a stud behind plasterboard, is remembered only at week end, after the invoice has already gone to the customer. Some of it never reaches the invoice. That is lost pay.

Landlord accounts need one statement

A letting agent sends repeat work across many addresses, from bleeding radiators to loose skirting. Jobs and invoices sit in separate places, so the monthly statement is built by hand.

Follow-up visits are not tracked

A snag after a repair, such as a door that still catches or grout that cracks, has no owner. A return visit for a customer-supplied bracket is the same. It is recalled only when the customer rings again. Trust slips.

What the software does

What we would build for handyman and home repair services.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Request intake and booking

Log each request from phone, form or message with address, photos and the kind of work, then book a visit slot against the right person.

Daily job schedule

Plan each handyman’s stops for the day by skill and area. Let him see them on a phone with notes, access details, key safe codes and the list of fixings to load.

Quotes and fixed-price tasks

Price common jobs, such as a shelf fitted, a door rehung or a tap washer replaced, from your own task list and hourly rates. Add materials, and send the quote for approval before work starts.

Visit notes and photographs

Record work done, hours spent and before and after photographs on the visit. The customer and the office then read the same facts, down to the screws, filler and sealant used.

Van and supplies stock

Record what is loaded into each van, from wall anchors and washers to mastic and grout, and set reorder levels on the lines that run out first.

Invoices and landlord statements

Raise invoices from the visit record, take payment on site or later, and send repeat accounts one statement for the period.

Common questions

Questions handyman and home repair services ask before they call.

Can a one-person handyman business use this?

Yes, though it matters more once you have a second van or an office person taking calls. A solo worker may only need the schedule, the quote and the invoice, with a van stock list for fixings.

Can we price small jobs at a fixed amount?

Yes. Common tasks are held in a list with a fixed price or an hourly rate and a minimum call-out. Anything unusual, such as a rotten sash or a damp patch, is quoted line by line and approved first.

Can property managers get a single monthly statement?

Yes. Jobs for each landlord or agent are grouped by address and account, and the statement lists every visit and invoice for the period.

Do handymen need signal on site?

The system runs online, so a phone with data is needed to open the day’s list and close visits. Photographs and notes can be added once signal returns.

What happens in the free technology audit?

We look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough to start. You get a report ordered by priority, and there is no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. The audit settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
