Keep every roof measurement, material order, crew day and stage bill on one job record.

Roofing software for contractors holds each roof as a single job. The job carries its measured area, the sheets, tiles or membrane ordered for it, the crew days spent on site and the photographs taken before and after the work. Bills follow the work measured. Leak calls after handover are logged against the same roof, so the warranty position is visible to anyone who answers the phone.

At a glance

A roofing contractor prices a roof from its area, its pitch and its covering. Once the quote is accepted, material is ordered, crews go up in batches, and the work is billed in stages as it is measured. That is the job. Simple to say, hard to track across six roofs at once.

Most of it sits in an estimator’s notebook, a supplier’s delivery slips and a camera roll. Roofing contractor software puts the measurements, the orders, the crew and the money into one record per roof. The office and the supervisor then read the same figures, whether the roof is a garage or a warehouse.

How the work runs today

The enquiry comes from a homeowner, a builder, a property manager or a factory owner. An estimator visits, measures the plan area and the slope, photographs the existing covering and notes access for ladders, scaffold and lifting gear. The quotation lists the covering, underlayment, battens or purlins, flashing, fasteners, ridge and gutter work and labour, priced from the supplier rates that week. Many firms send several revisions before the client agrees.

After approval, material is ordered and delivered to site. Crews are booked around the weather, and a job that loses a day to rain has to move without disturbing the next one. The supervisor records the area completed and any extra work found once the old covering is lifted, such as rotten decking. Stage bills follow the measurement. After handover, leak calls and warranty visits come back to the same roof. Whoever answers must know what was fitted there, who fitted it, which warranty applies and whether the original fixings were changed during any later repair.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for roofing contractors without a proper system.

Measurements live in notebooks

The estimator measures once, the supervisor measures again, and the bill is written from a third figure. Nobody can say which one the client agreed to. Disputes follow.

Weather moves the whole schedule

A wet week pushes crews from one site to the next. The calendar sits in a message group. Clients are told late, and the next roof in the queue moves again without anyone noticing the knock-on effect.

Extra work is not recorded

Rotten decking, extra flashing or a changed ridge line is found once the roof is open. If the client has not signed it, the cost is hard to bill, and the supervisor has moved on to the next roof by the time the office asks.

Material is ordered twice or short

Orders go to suppliers by phone and message. Deliveries arrive in part. Nobody checks them against the quantity measured for the roof, so a shortfall is found on the ladder, with the crew waiting.

Warranty calls have no history

A leak is reported two winters later. The covering, the fixings and the crew who fitted it are not found without a search through old files.

What the software does

What we would build for roofing contractors.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Roof inspection and measurement

Record the site visit with area, pitch, covering type, access notes and photographs, kept under the client and the address. It is the base for every later figure.

Quotations from your rate list

Build quotes from your own material and labour rates. Revisions are kept, so the figure the client first saw is still on file.

Material orders and deliveries

Raise orders to suppliers against a job and check each delivery against what was ordered, with shortfalls shown at once.

Crew days and scheduling

Plan crews by roof and by day, mark days lost to weather, and see who is free before a date is promised.

Variations and stage bills

Log extra work with the client’s approval. Then raise stage bills from the area measured and the variations signed, so the invoice and the site record carry the same figures.

Leak calls and warranty records

Keep the covering, the date fitted and the warranty terms on each roof. A leak call opens a ticket and a visit against the same record. Nothing is searched for.

Safety and site checks

Complete a site checklist for work at height, with the crew and the date noted. Photographs of the finished work stay with the job.

Common questions

Questions roofing contractors ask before they call.

Does it work for both housing and commercial roofs?

Yes. A small repair is a short job with one visit. A large industrial roof runs in stages with its own crew plan, order list and stage bills, and each stage can be billed once it is measured.

Can we handle different roof coverings?

Yes. Metal sheet, tile, shingle, membrane and flat roof work can each carry their own item list and rates. The list is set up with you.

Can crews see their jobs on a phone?

Yes. A crew lead opens the roofs booked for the day, notes the area done and uploads photographs from the ladder or the van. On a roof with no signal, entries are held until the phone reconnects.

How are tax and currency handled?

Your accountant and GullySystem agree the currency and the sales tax rules for your country during installation. Your accountant reviews the invoice format before go-live, including how tax shows on stage bills and on retention that the client holds.

What happens in the free technology audit?

We look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough to start. You get a report ordered by priority, and there is no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. The audit settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
