Automotive · Software for auto manufacturers

Keep every build order, torque record and end-of-line test on the vehicle identification number.

A vehicle assembler builds a few thousand units from thousands of parts, and each unit must be traceable for years. The auto manufacturer software holds build orders, variant bills of materials, station checks and end-of-line results against one identification number per vehicle. Inbound supplier lots and outbound dealer dispatch are tied to that vehicle too.

At a glance

A vehicle is a pile of variants. Engine, trim, colour, market and options change from one unit to the next, and the paper that follows each unit down the line has to change with them. When a recall arrives, someone has to find every unit that carries one supplier lot.

Manufacturing software for vehicle assemblers starts from the build order and ends at the dispatch note. In between, the identification number collects part lots, station results, rework and test readings. Traceability comes from the line running. It is not a separate project.

How the work runs today

Dealers and fleet buyers place orders by variant and market. Planning turns them into build orders against a weekly slot and checks that the parts for each variant are on hand. Then it releases the order to the line. Stores issue kits to each station against the variant list, while goods inward checks supplier deliveries against the purchase order and holds critical lots for inspection.

On the line, operators at each station record torque values, fitments and part lot labels against the vehicle in front of them. Paint and body shops log their own stages. At the end of the line a tester runs brake, emission, lamp and leak checks, and anything that fails goes to a rework bay. Passed units are certified, parked in the yard and dispatched to dealers with their documents. Warranty claims come back months later.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for auto manufacturers without a proper system.

Variant parts are short at the station

A kit is issued for the wrong trim. A seat arrives in another colour. The bill of materials is a spreadsheet per model, edited by hand and copied between planners.

A supplier lot cannot be traced to units

A bearing batch is found faulty. Nobody can list the identification numbers that received it without opening every line sheet from the weeks in question and reading them one by one.

Torque and test readings sit on paper

Station checklists are filed in boxes. An audit or a claim means reading handwriting. Finding one unit takes hours.

Rework has no owner

A failed unit sits in the bay for a day before anyone knows why. The cause is on a tag. It falls off.

Engineering changes reach the line late

A drawing revision is approved in the design office. Stores still issue the old part, because nobody told them which unit number is the first to carry the new one.

What the software does

What we would build for auto manufacturers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Build orders and variant bills of materials

Hold the bill of materials per variant and market, release a build order against a weekly slot and show shortages before release.

Supplier schedules and goods inward

Send delivery schedules to suppliers, receive against them, and hold critical lots for inspection before they reach stores.

Station checks and torque records

Record fitments, torque values and part lot labels at each station, all tied to the identification number of the unit in front of the operator. Nothing is filed later.

End-of-line testing and rework

Capture brake, emission, lamp and leak readings. Route failed units to a rework bay. Record the cause and the fix.

Engineering change control

Approve a drawing or part change with an effective unit number. Stores and the line switch together.

Dealer allocation and dispatch

Allocate finished units to dealer orders, print delivery documents with the identification number and track units in transit.

Warranty and recall traceability

List every unit that carries a given supplier lot, part number or build week, and follow each warranty claim to its cause.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, Tally reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions auto manufacturers ask before they call.

Is this for large car makers?

It suits assemblers of cars, trucks, buses and specialist vehicles that build in modest volumes. A plant with its own group engineering systems would run this beside them. It does not replace them.

Can it follow a supplier lot to the vehicles that received it?

Yes. Part lot labels are recorded at each station against the identification number of the vehicle. A faulty lot returns every affected unit in one query, with no line sheets opened.

Does it connect to torque tools and test benches?

Where a tool or bench can export or send readings, they are linked during implementation. Where it cannot, an operator enters them on a station screen.

Can it handle several variants on one line?

Yes. Each build order carries its own variant bill of materials, so kits and station instructions follow the unit and not the line.

What happens in the free technology audit?

We look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough to start. You get a report ordered by priority, and there is no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. The audit settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
