Health and wellness · Software for pathology labs

Track each sample from barcode to signed report, with collection centre dues on one ledger.

Pathology labs register patients, collect samples at the desk, at home and through partner centres, run them across several benches and release reports after a pathologist signs. The software follows your own test master, reference ranges and rate lists. A barcode links each tube to its patient, and pending reports sit on one list. Each centre’s B2B dues build up from those entries too.

At a glance

A neighbourhood pathology lab handles walk-in patients, home collection, samples from partner collection centres and work sent by nearby nursing homes, often from a single processing room.

Our pathology lab product is built for that mix of sources. Before anything is set up, one day’s samples are followed from the TRF and the tube to the signed report and the bill. Set-up then follows how your desk, benches and pathologist already work.

How the work runs today

The morning starts with fasting samples at the desk and phlebotomists out on home visits, while partner centres send their boxes by runner or courier. Each tube is labelled, entered and sorted into biochemistry, haematology, serology or microbiology, and special tests are packed for the reference lab.

Technicians run the analysers, check the controls, and copy values into report formats. The pathologist reviews the results, calls the doctor on a critical value, and signs. Then the desk prints, emails or sends each report.

Payment arrives in many ways. Walk-in patients pay at the desk, while centres, hospitals and corporate clients are billed monthly at their agreed rates, and each has its own outstanding.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for pathology labs without a proper system.

Tube labels are handwritten

A name in marker on an EDTA tube is easy to misread at a busy bench. One swap means two wrong reports.

Report status lives at the bench

A doctor calls to ask whether a report is ready, and the desk has to walk in and ask a technician. The caller waits on hold.

Every centre has its own rate

Partner centres, nursing homes and camps are billed at different rates, and the monthly statement is rebuilt in Excel. Balances get argued over.

Reference lab samples are forgotten

A special test goes out with a courier slip, and its expected date is not written anywhere the desk can see. The patient calls first.

Kit lots and expiry are not recorded

Reagent kits are reordered by looking in the fridge, and the lot used for a run is not noted. Short-dated kits get missed.

What the software does

What we would build for pathology labs.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Registration and barcoded samples

Register the patient with the referring doctor and the tests ordered, then print a barcode for each container. Tube, patient and tests stay linked from collection to the bench.

Home collection and partner centres

Book home visits by area and slot for each phlebotomist, and let partner centres register their own patients and see their own reports.

Worklists and result entry

Give each bench a list of samples waiting, with values outside your reference ranges flagged as they are typed.

Pathologist sign-off

Hold every report until a pathologist reviews and signs it, with earlier values shown alongside and the signer recorded.

Report delivery

Print, email or send signed reports from the lab’s WhatsApp Business number once it is set up, and log every resend.

Rate lists and B2B ledgers

Bill each patient from the correct rate list, and keep a ledger and a monthly statement for every centre, hospital and corporate client.

Outsourced tests, kits and controls

Track tests sent to a reference lab until their results return, count kits by lot and expiry, and record daily control runs against your limits.

The business modules pathology labs use most.

Each one is also available on its own, or inside a system built for you.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, Tally reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions pathology labs ask before they call.

Will results come directly from our analysers?

Not on its own. Interfacing is scoped per machine model, based on what each analyser can send. Until then, technicians enter values on the worklist and the range flags still apply.

Can a patient get a report before the pathologist signs?

No. Reports are released only after sign-off. The desk can see that a report is waiting and tell the patient when it is due.

Does it help with NABL accreditation?

It keeps sample, result, sign-off, control and kit records your lab can use in its quality work. Accreditation itself stays between the lab and the assessing body, and the software does not certify anything.

Can our partner collection centres use it?

Yes. Each centre gets its own login to register patients, print barcodes, view its signed reports and read its statement, and its rates follow the list agreed with your lab.

What happens in the free technology audit?

We look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough to start. You get a report ordered by priority, and there is no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. The audit settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
